Espresso Machine Counter Space: Measure Before You Buy

The planner now lives inside the Home espresso setup guide. The short version is here so you can act on it in a minute: the five measurements, the compact machines that fit most counters, and the direct links.
The five measurements
- Usable counter width. The clear stretch where the machine will live, with room beside it for a cup and, if you grind fresh, the grinder.
- Depth. Backsplash to the safe front edge, with a gap behind for the cord and for rear-fill tanks.
- Height under the cabinets. Top-fill tanks and pod lids need open air above the machine.
- The refill path. Top, rear, or a tank that slides out the side: can you reach it, lift it and put it back without moving the machine?
- The cord and the outlet. A safe path to power, away from the sink and the drip tray.
Confirm the exact model number and read its current dimensions before ordering; same-brand machines differ by generation. Not sure which machine to measure for? The size finder asks three questions and points at one.
Compact machines that fit most counters
Breville Bambino, 54 mm. 12 in tall and 13.7 in deep, per the listing; the 47 oz tank lifts out at the back, so leave a gap behind it or plan to reach over. Hot in about 3 seconds. The catch: no built-in grinder, and its accessories are Breville 54 mm, not the common 58 mm. Our note
CASABREWS CM5418, 51 mm. 5.5 in wide and 12.3 in deep, per the listing, with a 34 oz tank that lifts out. The catch: 51 mm is the odd accessory size, so search tampers and baskets by the model name, never "universal". Our note
Under a low cabinet? Nespresso Vertuo Pop+. 10.4 in tall, per the listing, with the 25 oz tank on the side, so nothing needs to open at the back. The catch: Vertuo pods only; no ground coffee, no grinder, none of the control of a manual machine. Our note
